FINALLY!!!
In September, Hurricane Ivan devistated Grand Cayman, so C&C Construction headed over there to help with the rebuilding. I waited patiently for their return to the Brac, doing my best to preserve the state of the construction.
In December, they announced that they weren’t coming back to the Brac.
After I recovered from the shock, I set about the daunting task of finding another builder willing to resume the house construction. Fortunately, I was blessed with a true gift from heaven when Mr. Carvel McLean gratiously agreed to complete the house.
However, my plans to fly to Miami and ensure the immediate delivery of my building materials went terribly astray when on the 9th of January I was hospitalized with appendicitis. A 4-hour surgery on the 10th relieved me of the troublesome organ, but left me too weak to travel until the 24th, the very day that Mr. McLean and his men began work on the house.
When I returned on the 27th, the most wonderful sight awaited me...
Highlight dates:
- 24 January 2005: McLean Construction began work on the house.
- 27 January 2005: My first glimpse of the new work.
